Leaves

Plane trees have large, prickly leaves. They are indented less than half-way towards the central vein, the leaves form from 3 to 5 triangular lobes. The lobes have forward-pointing teeth.
They appear in late spring, mostly dropping in December, although a few may remain until very late winter.
The leaves may measure up to 6 to 8 inches long and a possible 8 or 10 inches across. Occasionally, the leaves are slightly more broader than they are long.
In the photo (on the right) below, you can even see new leaves growing.
