| I researched a tree outside my block of flats which is know as
the Victorian Plane Tree (or the London Plane Tree). Its Latin name is
Platanus x Hispanica (also known as Platanus x Acerifolia). |

The Victorian Plane Tree is planted for its ability to adapt to urban conditions and its resistance to pollution.
It is the most common tree in London, and is found growing in parks and streets in the city.
Its papery bark and round fruits are distinctive.
